Revenge? No. Truth, Justice and the American Way!

After reading a great article by Rob Kall, I have changed my mind. That is one thing that Progressives and other thinking people can and should do.
I posted an article on Impeachment, just recently, called “Move On?”. Calling for the Democratic leaders to not take Impeachment off the table. I thought this the only course to follow. I did not think of a better way to handle this. I failed to remember history. Thankfully, others have remembered!
I was wrong! There is another way. A better way.
Of course, this way, does not exclude Impeachment. That is what makes this work. First the investigations, then the whole country will know exactly what crimes have been committed. None of these criminals will be able to hide the truth from the American People. We all saw the Nixon Cabal’s crimes. The only thing I ask is, do not pardon them after they resign. We have paid and so should they.
We do not need the nation to be healed this way. We are strong enough to survive anything. Even our leaders being impeached and sent to prison. We have pushed for the trial of, and the death sentence of Saddam Hussein for his crimes against humanity. It is only fair that even our leaders, who have broken the laws, should pay the price demanded for those crimes. We are a nation of laws, after all. No man is above the law! And no nation should be!

I, like many Constitution loving Americans, am just tired of the whole Republican party leaders commiting such great crimes and none of them being called to answer for them. While the little people are thrown in prison for years for small crimes. I am tired of the Oaths of Office that our Representatives take before and for us, being broken. I want these people to pay for their crimes. Crimes against humanity. Crimes against the Constitution. Crimes against the American People.

This is such a thoughtful and smarter way of making Mr. Bush and his whole Cabal pay for their crimes, that I am posting Mr. Kall’s article here.

A lot of people are angry with Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers because they say impeachment is not on the table. I say “thank goodness.”

You see, I’m in a hurry. I want to see the big cleanup in Washington happen much faster– including showing Cheney and Bush the door, and maybe, the prison yard. Pelosi and Conyers are doing things exactly right and they have a better chance of my goal– removal of Bush and Cheney from office– than if they were going the impeachment route. more…

No One Allowed To Speak Up!

John McCain is the latest entrant into the Republican’s war on free speech, and specifically the Blog’s. It is just the newest shot across the bow of our Constitution by the Right Wingers. Those people who tell us that we are at war with terrorism, because the Terrorists hate us for our freedoms.

Well, after this newest battle in the War on our Freedoms is passed, there are very few of them left for the terrorist to hate us for. Stop the war! Bring the troops home! We have become them. They have won!

Just in the last month the Republican’s are once again marshaling their forces of evil to take away another one of our Rights. First there was Newt Gingrich, former House Speaker, who called for a reexamination of one of our most important Rights, Free Speech. At the Loeb First Amendment Award Dinner in New Hampshire, Mr. Gingrich said: a “different set of rules, to prevent terrorism” are necessary. Gingrich’s call to restrict free speech is mainly focused on the Internet, for now. What gall, to present this nonsense at a dinner, where they celebrate our 1st Amendment, the Right to Free Speech. I would have booed him and walked out. Or better yet, someone should have escorted him out of the dinner. Maybe out of the city, state or country. There are places in this world where his kind of thinking would be celebrated. But I thought we were fighting against those who believed this way.

Said Mr. Gingrich: “My view is that either before we lose a city, or if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that we use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech…..”
Keith Olbermann, of Countdown/MSNBC reply to this truly stupid plan: “If you are going to destroy freedom of speech, bub, you’ve already lost all the cities.
Olbermann went on to say: “To paraphrase Pastor Martin Noemuller’s poem about Germany in the ’30’s and 40’s: First they came for the Fourth Amendment, then they came for habeas corpus, then they came for free speech, and there was no one allowed to speak up”. Source

Move On?

Move on! There is nothing to see here folks! Move on!

No! There are times to stop and examine what has happened. To take appropriate measures to make sure that what has happened will never happen again. We are all witnesses and over half of American’s are accomplices to the greatest crime this country has ever experienced. (Oh there have been worse wars and deaths from those, but this is not just about a war. This is about the stealing of American’s Rights and the shredding of our Constitution. This is the worst crime that any American can do). And Mr. Bush is still trying to con us into allowing him to continue with his crime spree.

Move on? I don’t think so.

Why Not A Cease Fire?

This war between Hezbollah and Israel is just what the Bush Cabal has been hoping and working for. On many fronts this works out well for them. They have told us in their position papers that they want the whole of the Middle East to be at war. Afghanistan was just a poor country which most of the world supported the taking down of it’s Government. They had Bin-Laden as a guest. Iraq they could sell with lies to not only many Americans but a few other Governments who wanted in on that fight. Iran they tried to sell to the American people and our military, but we weren’t buying. As hard as Mr. Bush and his cronies tried to sell us the same type of fear that worked so well in their lead up to the Iraqi war: WMD’s, mushroom clouds over America, they just could not get us to buy it. I believe that the military higher-uppers said “No”. more…

How Many Admitted Felonies Does It Take?

First time that a man has been appointed by a court to be the President of the United States of America. First time that a President has a criminal record. First time that a President of the United States has admitted to committing a felony. First time that a President’s attorney has admitted to a President committing another felony. more…

We Can’t Afford? We Can’t Afford Not To!

“We can’t deport millions of illegal Aliens, back to Mexico”, says Mr. Bush.
What the hell is he talking about? They want to make more and more things illegal for American’s to do. Burn the Flag, go to prison. Have an abortion, talk to someone about having an abortion, providing the services to someone for an abortion, go to jail.

But, enter this country illegally? Get a free pass to being an American! more…

Why Are We Happy Today?

Maybe because we see a chink in the armor?

The Supreme Court today delivered a sweeping rebuke to the Bush administration, ruling that it exceeded its authority by creating tribunals for terror suspects that fell short of the legal protections that Congress has traditionally required in military courts.
As a result, the court said in a 5-to-3 ruling, the tribunals violated both American military law and the military’s obligations under the Geneva Conventions. {Source}

I don’t know why people are celebrating this ruling . We have already signed the Geneva Convention which states how we must treat all prisoners-of-war and civilians during war. Read my article on this subject here. Remember that Treaties are the highest law of the land, under our Constitution. Ah, but as Mr. Bush has whined before, “This is an old law”. So is the Ten Commandments. more…

From the Top Down

FBI statistics Monday confirmed what big cities like Philadelphia, Houston, Cleveland and Las Vegas have seen on the streets: Violent crime in the U.S. is on the rise, posting its biggest one-year increase since 1991.
In Philadelphia, homicides jumped from 330 in 2004 to 377 in 2005, a 14 percent increase, according to the FBI. Murders climbed from 272 to 334 in Houston, a 23 percent rise, and from 131 to 144 in Las Vegas, a 10 percent increase.

When people see the “big boys” get away with murder, the message is that there is no law and order. Why should we obey the laws? When Mr. Bush signs 750 “Signing Statements” which states that he and his Administration do not have to obey even the Constitution, let alone Acts of Congress or any old pesky laws, the message is clear that this is a lawless country.

Parents can not tell their children to do as I say, not as I do and expect to get good results from their childrearing. The people in charge, whether in the family or in Government, must be the example. They must be above reproach. more…

Follow The Money

What about the money? There is the more than $9 billion that has gone missing without a trace in Iraq–as well as $12 billion in cash that the Pentagon flew into Iraq straight from Federal Reserve vaults via military transports, and for which there has been little or no accounting.
When word of the missing money first surfaced in 2004, Congress passed legislation creating an office of Special Inspector General. The new inspector general, an attorney named Stuart Bowen, came up with a report in early 2006 that sounded scathing enough. Bowen found cases of double billing by contractors, of payments for work that was never done, and other scandals. But he never came up with more than $1 billion or so worth of problems. Why? more…

Politics Against America

Once again Mr. Bush uses hate, religion and politics to try to stem the tide against the Republicans losing power.

Mr. Bush and the Religious Right are claiming : “Marriage is being redefined by ‘activist judges’”. As a new Cato Institute report by Professor Dale Carpenter notes, “The ‘threat’ from courts is more imagined than real.” Only one state has adopted same-sex marriage as a result of a court decision; 45 states have barred same-sex marriage by various means. The question isn’t whether “activist judges” should redefine marriage, but whether the states should have the opportunity to settle this matter in their own fashion, without federal interference. (These “activist judges” from Massachusetts are all Republican appointed judges).

This really has already been answered in one court case. Just substitute the word gender for race.

The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.
